2. to solicit customers or walk the beat (euphemistic/colloquial; often refers to sex work or street solicitation)

   警方怀疑那条街上有人跑街卖春。 jǐngfāng huáiyí nàtiáo jiēshàng yǒurén pǎojiē màichūn — The police suspect that people on that street are soliciting for sex.
