1. to leap to (a higher position); to shoot up (e.g., price, ranking)

   受利好消息影响，股价在今天早盘骤然跃升。 shòu lìhǎo xiāoxī yǐngxiǎng gǔjià zài jīntiān zǎo pán zhòurán yuèshēng — Affected by positive news, the stock price leapt sharply in today's morning session.

2. to jump; to spring up (general physical movement)

   小狗看到主人回来，高兴得猛地跃升到沙发上。 xiǎogǒu kàndào zhǔrén huílái gāoxìng dé měngdì yuèshēng dào shāfā shàng — When the dog saw its owner return, it happily jumped up onto the sofa.

3. (of a plane) to ascend; to climb

   飞机在起飞后迅速跃升到巡航高度。 fēijī zài qǐfēi hòu xùnsù yuèshēng dào xúnháng gāodù — After takeoff the plane quickly ascended to cruising altitude.
