趴窝 — pāwō

1. (coll.) (of a hen) to sit on the nest to lay or hatch eggs

   母鸡在鸡窝里趴窝了，几天不会离开。 mǔjī zài jīwō lǐ pāwō le jǐtiān búhuì líkāi — The hen has sat on the nest and won't leave for days.

2. (fig.) (of a person) to be laid up from illness or exhaustion; to be bedridden

   他感冒后高烧不退，整整趴窝了两周。 tā gǎnmào hòu gāoshāo bùtuì zhěngzhěng pāwō le liǎngzhōu — After catching a cold he had a fever and was laid up for two weeks.

3. (fig.) (of a machine, vehicle, etc.) to break down; to be out of commission

   那辆车在半路上趴窝了，我们只好叫拖车来。 nàliàngchē zài bànlùshàng pāwō le wǒmen zhǐhǎo jiào tuōchē lái — The car broke down on the way, so we had to call a tow truck.
