起子 — qǐzǐ

1. baking soda (used to leaven bread)

   做蛋糕的时候，我需要一些起子来使面糊膨松。 zuò dàngāo de shíhòu wǒ xūyào yīxiē qǐzi lái shǐ miànhù péngsōng — When making the cake, I need some baking soda to make the batter rise.

2. screwdriver (tool)
