1. to go to a periodic rural market; to attend a market day

   村里每隔一周都会有人赶场买菜。 cūnlǐ měigé yīzhōu dū huì yǒurén gǎncháng mǎicài — Every other week people in the village go to the market to buy vegetables.

2. to move from one performance or fair to another; to play/perform at successive venues

   那些民间戏班子常年赶场，到处演出。 nàxiē mínjiān xìbānzi chángnián gǎncháng dàochù yǎnchū — Those folk troupes spend the year touring from fair to fair, performing everywhere.
