走向 — zǒuxiàng

1. direction; orientation; the way something points or faces

   河水的走向改变了村庄的布局。 héshuǐ de zǒuxiàng gǎibiàn le cūnzhuāng de bùjú — The direction of the river changed the layout of the village.

2. strike (geology) — the angle of intersection of a rock surface with the horizontal

   测量员记录了断层的走向和倾角。 cèliángyuán jìlù liǎo duàncéng de zǒuxiàng hé qīngjiǎo — The surveyor recorded the fault's strike and dip.

3. inclination; trend — a tendency or general direction in which something develops

4. to move towards; to head for; to approach a place or state
