赤露 — chìlù

1. bare; exposed (skin, ground, etc.)

   雨后山坡变得赤露，没有草莽覆盖。 yǔhòu shānpō biàndé chìlù méiyǒu cǎomǎng fùgài — After the rain the hillside became bare, without grass covering it.

2. to reveal; to lay bare

   考古队赤露了古墙的基础结构。 kǎogǔduì chìlù le gǔ qiáng de jīchǔ jiégòu — The archaeological team exposed the foundation of the ancient wall.
