赏 — shǎng

1. to bestow; to give (often from a superior to an inferior); to hand down

   皇上赏给了他一匹良马。 huángshàng shǎnggěi le tā yìpǐ liángmǎ — The emperor bestowed a fine horse on him.

2. a reward (bestowed by a superior)

   朝廷下了重赏以征召有功之人。 cháotíng xià le zhòngshǎng yǐ zhēngzhào yǒugōng zhīrén — The court announced a heavy reward to recruit those with merit.

3. to appreciate (beauty); to enjoy (sight, e.g. flowers, scenery, performances)

   春天我们去公园赏花吧。 chūntiān wǒmen qù gōngyuán shǎnghuā ba — Let's go to the park to admire the flowers in spring.
