1. to misunderstand; to take (something) the wrong way; to mistake

   他误会了我的意思。 tā wùhuì le wǒ de yìsi — He misunderstood what I meant.

2. a misunderstanding; a mistaken belief or misapprehension

   我们之间有个误会，需要把事情说清楚。 wǒmen zhījiān yǒu gè wùhuì xūyào bǎ shìqíng shuō qīngchǔ — There is a misunderstanding between us; we need to clear things up.
