1. test point; focus of a trial (a place or item used to test something)

   这个城市设了几个试点来测试新系统。 zhège chéngshì shè le jǐgè shìdiǎn lái cèshì xīn xìtǒng — The city set up several test points to try out the new system.

2. to carry out a trial; to pilot (a scheme, program, policy)

   我们将在三个社区试点这项新政策。 wǒmen jiāng zài sāngè shèqū shìdiǎn zhèxiàng xīn zhèngcè — We will pilot this new policy in three communities.

3. pilot scheme; pilot project (a limited trial implementation)

   政府启动了一个交通试点项目以评估效果。 zhèngfǔ qǐdòng le yígè jiāotōng shìdiǎn xiàngmù yǐ pínggū xiàoguǒ — The government launched a pilot transport project to evaluate its effects.
