   委员会不认同这个提议，决定继续讨论。 wěiyuánhuì bù rèntóng zhège tíyì juédìng jìxù tǎolùn — The committee did not endorse the proposal and decided to continue discussing it.

2. to acknowledge; to recognize (a fact, argument, position)

   我认同你的观点，但我们需要更多数据来证明。 wǒ rèntóng nǐ de guāndiǎn dàn wǒmen xūyào gèngduō shùjù lái zhèngmíng — I acknowledge/agree with your point, but we need more data to prove it.

3. to identify oneself with; to feel affinity or solidarity with

   很多年轻人认同这种自由、开放的生活方式。 hěnduō niánqīngrén rèntóng zhèzhǒng zìyóu kāifàng de shēnghuó fāngshì — Many young people identify with this free, open way of life.
