计较 — jìjiào

1. to make a fuss about; to pay too much attention to (minor points); to argue over

   别跟小事计较，放轻松。 bié gēn xiǎoshì jìjiào fàng qīngsōng — Don't bother about small things, relax.

2. to haggle; to argue over price; to bargain

   买菜别跟老板太计较价钱。 mǎicài bié gēn lǎobǎn tài jìjiào jiàqián — When buying vegetables don't haggle too much with the vendor.

3. plan; scheme; stratagem (often literary or formal)

   他心里早有计较，从容应对眼前的局面。 tā xīnlǐ zǎo yǒu jìjiào cóngróngyìngduì yǎnqián de júmiàn — He already had a plan in mind and calmly handled the situation at hand.
