1. to touch (physically)

   他轻轻地触动了门把手。 tā qīngqīngdì chùdòng le ménbàshǒu — He lightly touched the doorknob.

2. to stir up (trouble or emotions); to provoke

   他的话触动了群众的情绪，引起了骚动。 tā dehuà chùdòng le qúnzhòng de qíngxù yǐnqǐ le sāodòng — His words stirred the crowd's emotions and caused a disturbance.

3. to move (someone's emotions); to touch (emotionally); to cause someone to worry

   这部电影深深触动了我，让我流下了眼泪。 zhèbù diànyǐng shēnshēn chùdòng le wǒ ràng wǒ liúxià le yǎnlèi — This film deeply moved me and made me shed tears.
