1. to remove; to get rid of; to free (from something)

   政府决定解除对进口货物的检疫限制。 zhèngfǔ juédìng jiěchú duì jìnkǒu huòwù de jiǎnyì xiànzhì — The government decided to lift the quarantine restrictions on imported goods.

2. to relieve (someone of their duties); to sack; to dismiss from a post

   公司因管理不善决定解除这位经理的职务。 gōngsī yīn guǎnlǐ bùshàn juédìng jiěchú zhèwèi jīnglǐ de zhíwù — The company decided to relieve the manager of his duties due to poor management.

3. to lift (an embargo); to rescind (an agreement or restriction)

   两国政府已同意解除贸易协议中的限制条款。 liǎngguózhèngfǔ yǐ tóngyì jiěchú màoyì xiéyì zhōng de xiànzhì tiáokuǎn — The two governments have agreed to lift the restrictive clauses in the trade agreement.
