   他用规矩在纸上画了一个圆和一个直角。 tāyòng guījǔ zài zhǐ shàng huà le yígè yuán hé yígè zhíjiǎo — He used a compass and set square to draw a circle and a right angle on the paper.

2. established standard; rule; customary practice

   这家公司有很多规矩，新人要先学会遵守。 zhèjiā gōngsī yǒu hěnduō guījǔ xīnrén yào xiān xuéhuì zūnshǒu — This company has many rules; newcomers must learn to follow them first.

3. upright and honest; well-behaved

   他为人很规矩，从不迟到，也不惹事。 tā wéi rén hěn guījǔ cóng bùchí dào yě bù rěshì — He is very well-behaved — never late and doesn't cause trouble.
