1. to see; to meet

   我昨天在公园见了他。 wǒ zuótiān zài gōngyuán jiàn le tā — I saw/met him in the park yesterday.

2. to appear; to seem (to be something)

   这本书见效很快，读后收获很大。 zhè běnshū jiànxiào hěnkuài dúhòu shōuhuò hěndà — This book shows results quickly; you gain a lot after reading it.

3. to interview

   记者要见那位官员进行采访。 jìzhě yào jiàn nàwèi guānyuán jìnxíng cǎifǎng — The reporter wants to interview that official.

4. opinion; view

   请大家说说自己的意见。 qǐng dàjiā shuō shuō zìjǐ de yìjiàn — Please share your own opinions, everyone.

见 — xiàn

1. to appear; to manifest (alternate pronunciation xiàn; also written 现)

   问题很快便见了端倪。 wèntí hěnkuài biàn jiàn le duānní — The problem soon began to show signs.
