   法官将在下周裁判这个案件。 fǎguān jiāng zài xiàzhōu cáipàn zhège ànjiàn — The judge will adjudicate this case next week.

2. verdict; judgement (legal decision)

   陪审团的裁判将在今天下午宣布。 péishěntuán de cáipàn jiāng zài jīntiānxiàwǔ xuānbù — The jury's judgement will be announced this afternoon.

3. referee; umpire; judge (in sports)

   裁判吹罚了点球，比赛因此暂停。 cáipàn chuī fá le diǎnqiú bǐsài yīncǐ zàntíng — The referee awarded a penalty, and the match was paused because of it.

4. to referee; to act as an umpire (in sports)

   他每个周末都去学校裁判篮球比赛。 tā měigè zhōumò dōu qù xuéxiào cáipàn lánqiúbǐsài — He referees basketball games at the school every weekend.
