1. organ failure; (medical) failure of an organ or system (e.g., heart failure)

   心力衰竭是常见的慢性心脏病并发症。 xīnlìshuāijié shì chángjiàn de mànxìng xīnzàngbìng bìngfāzhèng — Heart failure is a common complication of chronic heart disease.

2. exhaustion; prostration (extreme weakness, often used in a medical context)

   手术后病人出现了严重的衰竭和虚弱，需要密切监护。 shǒushù hòu bìngrén chūxiàn le yánzhòng de shuāijié hé xūruò xūyào mìqiè jiānhù — After the operation the patient developed severe exhaustion and weakness and required close monitoring.
