1. pedestrian

   行人应走人行道。 xíngrén yīng zǒu rénxíngdào — Pedestrians should use the sidewalk.

2. traveler on foot; someone traveling by walking

   他喜欢当行人，徒步旅行穿越山区。 tā xǐhuān dāng xíngrén túbùlǚxíng chuānyuè shānqū — He likes traveling on foot, hiking through the mountains.

3. passer-by; someone passing by

   几名行人停下来帮忙。 jǐmíng xíngrén tíngxiàlái bāngmáng — Several passers-by stopped to help.

4. (historical) official responsible for arranging audiences with the emperor

   古代的行人负责接见大臣和安排朝见。 gǔdài de xíngrén fùzé jiējiàn dàchén hé ānpái cháojiàn — In ancient times, the xíngrén were officials responsible for receiving ministers and arranging audiences.
