1. to make up; to fabricate (a story, fact, etc.)

2. fictional; imaginary (not real)

   这是一个虚构的人物，用来说明问题。 zhè shì yígè xūgòu de rénwù yònglái shuōmíng wèntí — This is a fictional character used to illustrate the point.
