2. strong-smelling vegetable (e.g. garlic, onion)

   炒菜时加一点荤味的蒜能提香。 chǎocài shí jiāyìdiǎn hūn wèi de suàn néng tíxiāng — Adding a bit of strong-smelling garlic when stir-frying can enhance the aroma.

3. vulgar; obscene

   他说的话太荤，让人不舒服。 tā shuō dehuà tài hūn ràng rén bù shūfú — What he said was too obscene and made people uncomfortable.
