   他太自负了，不听别人的意见。 tā tài zìfù le bù tīng biérén de yìjiàn — He's too conceited; he doesn't listen to others' opinions.

2. to take/assume responsibility (or bear the cost)

   这次比赛的费用由参赛者自负。 zhècì bǐsài de fèiyòng yóu cānsàizhě zìfù — The costs for this competition are to be borne by the participants.
