自行 — zìxíng

1. voluntary; autonomous; acting on one's own initiative

   这是一个自行决定的问题，不需要外部干预。 zhè shì yígè zìxíngjuédìng de wèntí bù xūyào wàibù gānyù — This is a decision to be made autonomously; no external intervention is needed.

2. by oneself; on one's own; without assistance

   他能够自行完成这项任务，不需要别人帮忙。 tā nénggòu zìxíng wánchéng zhèxiàng rènwù bù xūyào biérén bāngmáng — He can complete the task by himself; he doesn't need others' help.

3. self- (prefix used to form compounds indicating 'self' or 'automatic')

   请同学们自行整理书桌。 qǐng tóngxuémen zìxíng zhěnglǐ shūzhuō — Students, please tidy up your desks on your own.
