   他胸怀悲痛，不愿多谈。 tā xiōnghuái bēitòng bù yuàn duō tán — He bore sorrow in his bosom and did not want to talk much.

2. broad-minded; magnanimous; open-hearted

   他胸怀宽广，能包容别人的缺点。 tā xiōnghuái kuānguǎng néng bāoróng biérén de quēdiǎn — He is broad-minded and can tolerate others' faults.

3. to cherish; to harbor (feelings or thoughts); to think about
