   窗外透进来一缕阳光。 chuāngwài tòujìnlái yīlǚ yángguāng — A ray of sunlight came through the window.

2. detailed; in detail (used in constructions meaning to lay out or explain step by step)

   他把事情缕得很清楚，大家都明白了。 tā bǎ shìqíng lǚ dé hěn qīngchǔ dàjiā dōu míngbái le — He laid out the matter in detail, and everyone understood.

3. classifier for wisps/strands (of smoke, mist, vapor), locks of hair, threads

   天边飘来一缕炊烟。 tiānbiān piāolái yīlǚ chuīyān — A wisp of cooking smoke drifted in from the horizon.
