1. essence; core nature

   事物的精与粗往往决定了最终品质。 shìwù de jīng yǔ cū wǎngwǎng juédìng le zuìzhōng pǐnzhì — The fine and coarse aspects of a thing often determine its final quality.

2. extract; concentrated substance

   这种草药的精可以用来做补剂。 zhèzhòng cǎoyào de jīng kěyǐ yònglái zuò bǔjì — The extract of this herb can be used to make tonic medicines.

3. vitality; life force; energy

   好好休息之后，他的精力慢慢恢复了。 hǎohǎo xiūxī zhīhòu tā de jīnglì mànmàn huīfù le — After resting well, his vitality gradually recovered.

4. semen; sperm

   医学报告中提到了精液样本的分析结果。 yīxué bàogào zhōng tídào le jīngyè yàngběn de fēnxī jiéguǒ — The medical report mentioned the analysis results of the semen sample.

5. mythical spirit or goblin (archaic/folk)

   传说山中有一只千年狐精。 chuánshuō shānzhōng yǒu yīzhī qiānnián hújīng — Legend has it that there is a thousand-year-old fox spirit in the mountains.
