1. to balance the books; to do the accounts

   每到月底，会计都要仔细算账。 měi dào yuèdǐ kuàijì dōu yào zǐxì suànzhàng — At the end of each month, the accountant carefully balances the books.

2. to settle an account; (fig.) to get one's revenge; to settle scores

   他以前受过欺负，现在想算账。 tā yǐqián shòuguò qīfù xiànzài xiǎng suànzhàng — He was bullied before and now wants to settle the score.
