2. to write brief comments or notes on a document

   老师在作业旁边签了几句评语。 lǎoshī zài zuòyè pángbiān qiān le jǐjù píngyǔ — The teacher wrote a few comments beside the homework.

3. inscribed bamboo slip (variant of 籤|签[qian1]) — small stick used for divination or drawing lots

   庙里有许多签放在抽签箱里。 miàolǐ yǒu xǔduō qiān fàngzài chōuqiān xiāng lǐ — There are many divination sticks in the temple's lot box.

4. visa (travel document)

   他刚办好了去法国的签证。 tā gāng bànhǎo le qù fǎguó de qiānzhèng — He just got his visa to go to France.
