筹 — chóu

1. chip (gambling); token; ticket (counting token)

   他在桌上推了一堆筹。 tā zài zhuōshàng tuī le yīduī chóu — He pushed a pile of chips on the table.

2. to prepare; to plan; to arrange

   我们正在筹下个月的会议细节。 wǒmen zhèngzài chóu xiàgèyuè de huìyì xìjié — We are preparing the details for next month's meeting.

3. to raise (funds); to solicit (support)

   他们正在为新项目筹款。 tāmen zhèngzài wèi xīn xiàngmù chóukuǎn — They are raising funds for the new project.

4. resource; means; way (a method or available resource)

   在缺乏资金的情况下，他们没有足够的筹。 zài quēfá zījīn de qíngkuàng xià tāmen méiyǒu zúgòu de chóu — In the absence of funds, they didn't have enough resources/means.
