笔记 — bǐjì

1. to take down (in writing); to make notes

   老师讲得很快，你要及时笔记。 lǎoshī jiǎng dé hěnkuài nǐ yào jíshí bǐjì — The teacher speaks quickly; you need to take notes promptly.

2. notes (written record of information); notebook of remarks

   我把会议的笔记发给大家了。 wǒ bǎ huìyì de bǐjì fāgěi dàjiā le — I sent the meeting notes to everyone.

3. a type of literature made up mainly of short sketches or jottings (literary genre)

   这本书收录了作者多年的笔记和随想。 zhè běnshū shōulù le zuòzhě duōnián de bǐjì hé suíxiǎng — This book collects the author's years of notes and reflections.
