   火车站离这里很近。 huǒchēzhàn lí zhèlǐ hěn jìn — The train station is very close to here.

2. to stand; to be standing

   他在门口站着等朋友。 tā zài ménkǒu zhàn zhe děng péngyǒu — He is standing at the door waiting for a friend.

3. to halt; to stop (movement or service)

   钟表突然站了，需要换电池。 zhōngbiǎo tūrán zhàn le xūyào huàn diànchí — The clock suddenly stopped; the battery needs to be replaced.

4. branch or outlet of a company/organization

   公司在各大城市设了销售站。 gōngsī zài gè dàchéngshì shè le xiāoshòu zhàn — The company has set up sales outlets in major cities.

5. website; web page (as a suffix, e.g., 论坛站)
