1. to launch a sudden/violent attack; to assault

   军队在夜间对敌方发动突击。 jūnduì zài yèjiān duì dífāng fādòng tūjī — The troops launched a nighttime assault on the enemy.

2. rushed job; concentrated effort to finish something quickly (often overnight or in a short time)

   为了赶期限，大家连夜突击完成了报告。 wèile gǎn qīxiàn dàjiā liányè tūjī wánchéng le bàogào — To meet the deadline, everyone worked overnight to finish the report.
