1. in the end; after all; (used in questions) exactly/what on earth

   你究竟想要什么？ nǐ jiūjìng xiǎngyào shénme — What do you actually want?

2. to investigate/go to the bottom of a matter; to find out the truth

   我们要究竟这件事的真相。 wǒmen yào jiūjìng zhèjiàn shì de zhēnxiàng — We must get to the bottom of the truth in this matter.

3. outcome; result; the final outcome

   大家都想知道这件事的究竟。 dàjiā dōu xiǎng zhīdào zhèjiàn shì de jiūjìng — Everyone wants to know the outcome of this matter.
