   他从钱包里拿出一张百元票。 tā cóng qiánbāo lǐ náchū yīzhāng bǎiyuán piào — He took a one-hundred-yuan banknote out of his wallet.

4. person held for ransom (dialectal/archaic)

   土匪把村里的好几个人当票扣押了。 tǔfěi bǎ cūnlǐ de hǎojǐgè rén dàngpiào kòuyā le — Bandits held several villagers as hostages for ransom.
