1. code (computing); code number

   这个软件的错误出在代码里，不是码的问题。 zhège ruǎnjiàn de cuòwù chū zài dàimǎ lǐ búshì mǎ de wèntí — The bug in this software is in the source code, not a problem with the code number.

2. size (clothing); clothing size

   请问你这件外套有大一码的码吗？ qǐngwèn nǐ zhèjiàn wàitào yǒu dà yīmǎ de mǎ ma — Do you have this coat in one size larger?

3. yard (unit of length)

   足球场大约长一百码。 zúqiúchǎng dàyuē zhǎng yìbǎi mǎ — The football field is about one hundred yards long.

4. number; numeral; figure

   请把你的会员码发给我。 qǐng bǎ nǐ de huìyuán mǎ fāgěi wǒ — Please send me your membership number.

5. to pile up; to stack

   工人们把箱子都码在一起了。 gōngrén men bǎ xiāngzi dōu mǎ zài yìqǐ le — The workers stacked the boxes together.

6. colloquial: kilometers per hour (informal misuse of 'yard' to mean kph)

   他开车开到一百码，我赶紧喊他减速。 tā kāichē kāidào yìbǎi mǎ wǒ gǎnjǐn hǎn tā jiǎnsù — He was driving at a hundred kph; I quickly told him to slow down.

7. classifier for matters, items, situations (esp. to indicate sameness or difference, as in 不是一码事 'not the same thing')

   学习和工作是两码事，不能混为一谈。 xuéxí hé gōngzuò shì liǎngmǎshì bùnéng hùnwéiyītán — Study and work are two different matters; they shouldn't be lumped together.
