直接 — zhíjiē

1. direct; not through intermediaries (opp. 間接|间接 jiànjiē)

   他给我的答案很直接，没有拐弯抹角。 tā gěi wǒ de dáàn hěn zhíjiē méiyǒu guǎiwānmòjiǎo — His answer to me was very direct, without beating around the bush.

2. directly; immediately (without delay or intermediaries)

   你可以直接打电话给我。 nǐ kěyǐ zhíjiē dǎdiànhuà gěi wǒ — You can call me directly.

3. straightforward; plain and honest in manner or speech

   她性格很直接，大家都很喜欢她的真诚。 tā xìnggé hěn zhíjiē dàjiā dōu hěn xǐhuān tā de zhēnchéng — She has a very straightforward personality; everyone likes her honesty.
