1. to go on stage; to come onto the stage

   演员一登场，全场都安静了。 yǎnyuán yī dēngcháng quánchǎng dōu ānjìng le — As soon as the actor came on stage, the whole audience fell silent.

2. fig. to appear on the scene; to make an appearance (in events, affairs, markets, etc.)

   新对手登场后，市场竞争加剧了。 xīn duìshǒu dēngcháng hòu shìchǎngjìngzhēng jiājù le — After the new rival appeared on the scene, market competition intensified.

3. in advertising: to be launched (of a new product)

   这款新手机下个月登场，大家都很期待。 zhèkuǎn xīnshǒujī xiàgèyuè dēngcháng dàjiā dōu hěn qīdài — This new phone will be launched next month; everyone is looking forward to it.
