疏散 — shūsàn

1. to scatter; to disperse; to evacuate; (also: scattered, sparse)

   发生火灾后，工作人员立即疏散了大楼内的所有人员。 fāshēng huǒzāi hòu gōngzuòrényuán lìjí shūsàn le dàlóu nèi de suǒyǒu rényuán — After the fire broke out, staff immediately evacuated everyone from the building.

2. scattered; sparse (describing distribution)

   这片森林树木分布很疏散，空地较多。 zhè piàn sēnlín shùmù fēnbù hěn shūsàn kòngdì jiào duō — The trees in this forest are sparsely distributed; there are many clearings.
