   如果他不在办公室，你可以给他留言。 rúguǒ tā bùzài bàngōngshì nǐ kěyǐ gěi tā liúyán — If he's not in the office, you can leave him a message.

2. a message; comments left by someone (e.g., online, on an answering machine)

   我在博客上留了一条留言。 wǒ zài bókè shàng liú le yītiáo liúyán — I left a message/comment on the blog.
