甩 — shuǎi

1. to throw; to fling (something with the hand)

   他把球甩出去，大家都追不上。 tā bǎ qiú shuǎichūqù dàjiā dōu zhuībùshàng — He tossed the ball out; nobody could catch up.

2. to swing; to flick (move something back and forth or swing an arm/body)

   他甩着头发进来了，看起来很随意。 tā shuǎi zhe tóufà jìnlái le kànqǐlái hěn suíyì — He came in swinging his hair, looking very casual.

3. to leave behind; to get rid of (something or someone physically left behind)

   火车开走了，他的包被甩在站台上。 huǒchē kāizǒu le tā de bāobèi shuǎi zài zhàntái shàng — The train left and his bag was left behind on the platform.

4. to throw off; to dump (end a romantic relationship or abandon someone)

   她决定甩了他，因为受够了他的谎言。 tā juédìng shuǎi le tā yīnwèi shòugòule tā de huǎngyán — She decided to dump him because she had had enough of his lies.
