用人 — yòngrén

1. servant; domestic worker

   过去他们家有几个用人来做家务。 guòqù tāmen jiā yǒu jǐgè yòngrén lái zuò jiāwù — In the past their family had several servants to do the household chores.

2. to employ somebody; to hire

   公司计划今年多用人以支持扩张。 gōngsī jìhuà jīnnián duōyòng rén yǐ zhīchí kuòzhāng — The company plans to hire more people this year to support expansion.

3. to manage or handle personnel; making decisions about people (in an organization)

   领导的用人原则会影响团队的氛围。 lǐngdǎo de yòngrén yuánzé huì yǐngxiǎng tuánduì de fēnwéi — A leader's principles for managing personnel will affect the team's atmosphere.

4. to be in need of staff; to require personnel

   餐厅生意好，现在很用人。 cāntīng shēngyì hǎo xiànzài hěn yòngrén — The restaurant is doing well; they are in need of staff now.
