狭隘 — xiáài

1. narrow (of a path, passage, etc.)

   这条山路很狭隘，车子很难通过。 zhètiáo shānlù hěn xiáài chēzi hěn nán tōngguò — This mountain path is very narrow; cars can hardly pass.

2. cramped; confined (of living or working space)

   他的宿舍又小又狭隘，几乎没有活动的空间。 tā de sùshè yòu xiǎo yòu xiáài jīhū méiyǒu huódòng de kōngjiān — His dorm is small and cramped, with almost no space to move.

3. narrow-minded; limited (of a way of thinking, definition, etc.)

   如果你用狭隘的标准评判别人，就很难理解多样性。 rúguǒ nǐ yòng xiáài de biāozhǔn píngpàn biérén jiù hěn nán lǐjiě duōyàngxìng — If you judge others by narrow standards, it's hard to appreciate diversity.
