   这家餐厅有一道特别的菜，只有节日期间才有。 zhèjiā cāntīng yǒu yīdào tèbié de cài zhǐyǒu jiérìqījiān cái yǒu — This restaurant has a special dish that's available only during the holidays.

2. very; especially; particularly (intensifier)

   我特别喜欢这本书的结尾。 wǒ tèbié xǐhuān zhè běnshū de jiéwěi — I especially like the ending of this book.

3. expressly; for a specific purpose; deliberately (often used to emphasize intent; often followed by 是)

   他特别为这次会议准备了详细的报告。 tā tèbié wèi zhècì huìyì zhǔnbèi le xiángxì de bàogào — He prepared a detailed report expressly for this meeting.
