爽 — shuǎng

1. bright; clear; crisp (of weather, light, colour)

   今天天气很爽，阳光透彻。 jīntiāntiānqì hěnshuǎng yángguāng tòuchè — The weather is bright today, the sunlight is clear.

2. frank; straightforward; blunt

   他说话很爽，总是直来直去。 tā shuōhuà hěnshuǎng zǒngshì zhíláizhíqù — He speaks bluntly, always straight to the point.

3. to feel well; fine; pleasurable; invigorating (pleasant feeling, relief or satisfaction)

   喝了冰水后我感觉很爽。 hē le bīngshuǐ hòu wǒ gǎnjué hěnshuǎng — After drinking the ice water I feel really good.

4. to deviate (archaic / literary)

   他言行爽于正道，偏离了古时的礼仪规范。 tā yánxíng shuǎng yú zhèngdào piānlí le gǔshí de lǐyí guīfàn — His words and actions deviated from the righteous path, departing from ancient ritual norms.
