   我来热一下这个饭。 wǒ lái rè yīxià zhège fàn — I'll heat up the food.

2. hot (of weather, temperature)

   今天很热，别忘了带水。 jīntiān hěn rè biéwàngle dài shuǐ — It's very hot today; don't forget to bring water.

3. heat; warmth

   炉子发出了很大的热。 lúzi fāchū le hěndà de rè — The stove gave off a lot of heat.

4. fervent; passionate; enthusiastic

   他对教育事业非常热心。 tā duì jiàoyù shìyè fēichángrèxīn — He is very enthusiastic about the cause of education.
