烦 — fán

1. to feel vexed; to be annoyed

   他最近很烦，经常发脾气。 tā zuìjìn hěnfán jīngcháng fāpíqì — He's been very annoyed lately and often loses his temper.

2. to bother; to trouble (someone)

   别烦我，我有很多工作要做。 bié fán wǒ wǒ yǒu hěnduō gōngzuò yào zuò — Don't bother me, I have a lot of work to do.

3. superfluous and confusing; redundant

   这段说明太烦，应该简化一下。 zhèduàn shuōmíng tàifán yīnggāi jiǎnhuà yīxià — This explanation is too convoluted; it should be simplified.

4. edgy; irritable; restless

   考试前大家都有点儿烦，睡不好觉。 kǎoshì qián dàjiā dōu yǒudiǎnér fán shuì bùhǎo jué — Before exams everyone is a bit on edge and can't sleep well.
