   除夕夜我们去河边看烟花。 chúxīyè wǒmen qù hébiān kàn yānhuā — On New Year's Eve we went to the river to watch fireworks.

2. prostitute (esp. in Yuan-dynasty theatre; historical/literary)

   古代文人把这类女子称作烟花。 gǔdài wénrén bǎ zhèlèi nǚzǐ chēngzuò yānhuā — Ancient literati called such women 'yanhua'.
