火辣辣 — huǒlàlà

1. scorching hot (temperature); burning hot

   太阳下的沙子烫得火辣辣的，不能赤脚走。 tàiyáng xià de shāzi tàngdé huǒlàlà de bùnéng chìjiǎo zǒu — The sand under the sun is scorching hot; you can't walk barefoot.

2. (of a burn or other injury) painful; burning (sensation)

   被热油溅到手上，瞬间感觉火辣辣地疼。 bèi rèyóu jiàn dào shǒushàng shùnjiān gǎnjué huǒlàlà dì téng — Hot oil splashed on my hand; it instantly felt burning painful.

3. agitated; heated (e.g., argument or mood); intense

   会议上他发言时情绪很激动，整个场面显得火辣辣的。 huìyì shàng tā fāyán shí qíngxù hěn jīdòng zhěnggè chǎngmiàn xiǎnde huǒlàlà de — When he spoke at the meeting he was very agitated; the whole scene felt heated.

4. (of a personality) fiery; sharp-tongued; biting

   她说话直率又带刺，性格很火辣辣，别人不太敢顶撞。 tā shuōhuà zhíshuài yòu dàicì xìnggé hěn huǒlàlà biérén bù tài gǎn dǐngzhuàng — She speaks bluntly and with barbs; her personality is fiery, so others rarely dare contradict her.

5. (Taiwan) (of a woman's figure) smoking hot; very sexy

   他们在台湾看到那位模特儿，都说她火辣辣的，很吸引人。 tāmen zài táiwān kàndào nàwèi mótèér dōu shuō tā huǒlàlà de hěn xīyǐn rén — They saw that model in Taiwan and all said she was smoking hot and very attractive.
