1. to dive; to go under water

   他周末去海里潜水。 tā zhōumò qù hǎilǐ qiánshuǐ — He went diving in the sea at the weekend.

2. (online) to lurk (read without posting)

   很多人只是潜水看帖子，不回复。 hěnduō rén zhǐshì qiánshuǐ kàn tiězi bù huífù — Many people just lurk and read posts without replying.
