漂浮 — piāofú

1. to float; to hover; to drift

   木船在河上漂浮。 mùchuán zài héshàng piāofú — The wooden boat is floating on the river.

2. to lead a wandering life; to rove (figurative)

   他年轻时四处漂浮，没有固定住所。 tā niánqīng shí sìchù piāofú méiyǒu gùdìng zhùsuǒ — When he was young he drifted around without a fixed home.

3. showy; superficial

   他的理解很漂浮，缺乏深度。 tā de lǐjiě hěn piāofú quēfá shēndù — His understanding is superficial and lacks depth.
